IPTV Sub-Reseller Model: Building and Managing a Reseller Network
Published: 2025-05-22
The sub-reseller model extends standard IPTV reselling by allowing a top-level reseller to create reseller accounts beneath their own — each with a dedicated panel, their own credit balance and their own customer base. This two-tier structure is available on all Premium plan packages.
What a Sub-Reseller Is
A sub-reseller is a reseller operating beneath your parent account. You create their panel account, allocate credits to their balance and they then manage customers independently using their own panel login. Your sub-reseller's customers are invisible to you at the individual level — you see only the aggregate credit consumption from each sub-reseller's account.
The sub-reseller sees only their own panel — they have no visibility into your parent panel, your credit balance or other sub-resellers' data.
Why Use a Sub-Reseller Structure
Sub-resellers allow you to scale distribution without scaling your own management load. Instead of managing 200 customer accounts directly, you might manage 10 sub-resellers each managing 20 customers. Your operational role shifts from customer management to reseller management — a smaller set of relationships at a higher level.
The commercial model: you purchase credits from the provider at your per-credit cost, allocate them to sub-resellers at a slightly higher per-credit rate, and earn margin on the spread. Sub-resellers earn their own margin by selling customer subscriptions at retail prices above the per-credit rate you charge them.
Creating a Sub-Reseller Account
From your Premium parent panel, navigate to the sub-reseller management section. Create a new sub-reseller account with a username and password. Allocate a credit balance to the sub-reseller account from your own balance — this immediately deducts those credits from your balance and adds them to the sub-reseller's. The sub-reseller can then log into their own panel and begin creating customer accounts.
Setting Sub-Reseller Credit Prices
Decide the per-credit rate you charge sub-resellers. This must be: higher than your own per-credit cost (to generate margin on credits sold to sub-resellers) and lower than what sub-resellers can sell customer subscriptions for (to give sub-resellers a viable margin). If your provider charges you £2.00/credit (Premium 500-credit package), charging sub-resellers £2.50/credit generates £0.50/credit margin on everything they consume.
Monitoring Sub-Reseller Activity
Your parent panel dashboard shows each sub-reseller's credit balance and aggregate consumption rate. Monitor this weekly — a sub-reseller who stops consuming credits has likely stopped selling, which may indicate churn in their customer base or that they have stopped operating. Follow up when activity drops significantly.
Standard vs Premium for Sub-Resellers
Sub-reseller functionality is only available on Premium plans at any credit tier. Standard plans, even at 1,000 credits, do not include sub-reseller management. If sub-reselling is your primary growth strategy, Premium is the only viable option.
