The VOD (video-on-demand) library is the on-demand content layer of your IPTV reseller service — films, TV series and international content available for customers to watch at any time, independently of the live channel schedule. Understanding what the VOD library contains helps you position it accurately with customers.

VOD Content Volume

Standard plans include 99,000+ VOD titles. Premium plans extend this to 199,000+ titles. These figures encompass films and series combined — in practice, the library includes thousands of films across multiple genres and hundreds of complete TV series across UK, US and international productions. The library is continuously updated; new releases typically appear within days of their digital distribution date.

How VOD Is Organised

The VOD library is accessible through the IPTV player application rather than directly through the reseller panel. Customers navigate via categories (Action, Comedy, Drama, Sport, Documentary, International) or via search. Most IPTV player apps (IPTV Smarters, TiviMate) display VOD alongside the live channel list in separate tabs.

What to Test During a Trial

During your trial period, test VOD from three angles: first, search for a specific recent film and confirm it is available and plays at the expected quality. Second, browse a genre category and check the breadth and recency of titles. Third, find a complete TV series and confirm all seasons and episodes are present. This gives a representative view of VOD depth without exhaustively checking the entire library.

Series vs Catch-up TV

The VOD library (films and series) is distinct from catch-up TV. Catch-up TV provides access to recently aired UK broadcast content — episodes of programmes that aired in the last few days. Series in the VOD library are full runs, often including content that is no longer airing. These serve different customer needs: catch-up for customers who missed last night's episode; VOD series for customers wanting to watch an entire run from the beginning.

Customer Guidance on VOD Access

Some customers are unfamiliar with VOD navigation in IPTV apps — they may be accustomed to live channel television. Provide brief guidance on where to find VOD in their specific player app during onboarding. IPTV Smarters has a dedicated "Movies" and "TV Shows" section in the bottom navigation. TiviMate shows VOD under a separate tab. This guidance reduces early support queries significantly.

4K VOD

Selected VOD titles are available in 4K on both Standard and Premium plans. 8K VOD is available on Premium. The availability of a specific title in 4K depends on whether the provider has ingested a 4K version — not all titles are available in 4K regardless of plan. When a customer asks whether a specific title is in 4K, the only reliable answer is to check during the trial.
