The IPTV Reseller Credit System: Managing Credits Effectively
Published: 2025-05-21
The credit system is the operational backbone of any IPTV reseller platform. Credits are the unit of currency between provider and reseller — every subscription activation spends credits, and understanding how to manage your credit balance well directly affects your ability to serve customers without disruption.
How Credits Are Purchased
Credits are purchased in defined package sizes. Standard packages range from 50 credits (£139.99) to 1,000 credits (£1,649.99). Premium packages range from 120 credits (£299.99) to 1,000 credits (£1,849.99). Credits from multiple purchases accumulate in the same balance — there is no limit to how many packages you can purchase, and credits from each purchase simply add to your running total.
How Credits Are Spent
Credits deduct when you activate or renew a customer subscription. The rate is: 1 credit = 1 month per customer account, regardless of content tier or subscription duration. Activating a 6-month subscription deducts 6 credits immediately. A 12-month subscription deducts 12 credits at the point of activation — not monthly in arrears.
Credit Balance Tracking
Your credit balance is displayed in the panel dashboard and updates in real time. The panel typically provides a transaction log showing each deduction, the account it was applied to and the subscription duration. Use this log to verify that every credit deduction corresponds to a known customer activation in your external records.
Planning Credit Consumption
A simple credit consumption forecast: list your active customers, their subscription durations and their renewal dates. Calculate the total credits required for all renewals in the next 30 days. Ensure your balance exceeds this amount plus a 20% buffer. If it does not, purchase a top-up before the renewal cycle begins.
Avoiding Credit Shortfalls
A credit shortfall — running out of credits during a renewal cycle — blocks you from activating renewals until you top up. The top-up process takes time (payment + delivery), during which customers may lose access if their subscription expires. Maintain a minimum balance buffer of at least 20 credits above your expected 30-day consumption at all times.
Credits Never Expire
On both Standard and Premium plans, credits never expire. This gives you the flexibility to purchase during a price-efficient window — for example, buying a 200-credit package when your customer base is at 15 customers, knowing you will consume the credits over time as the business grows. There is no penalty for holding a credit balance; the risk of buying too far ahead is capital tied up, not credits expiring.
